Dining on the River Seine with Bateaux Parisiens
My trip to Paris was quite a long time ago, but I feel the quality of the food (and the whole experience) of my lunchtime river cruise warrants a place on this blog.
I really wanted a special dining experience whilst visiting Paris and the Bateaux Parisiens Seine River Lunch Cruise was just the thing! Four courses, a glass of champagne, and plenty of wine (they really didn’t believe in moderation). Just to add that if you don’t drink alcohol, there are soft drinks and water alternatives.
The starters were gorgeous:
For the main course, I had the beef, whilst my boyfriend had the salmon:
For dessert, we both had the chocolate mousse:
And then to top it off, we had a cheese course:
I didn’t expect the food to be amazing, as the selling point of the whole thing was the cruise, but it was actually fantastic. Melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The menus change seasonally, but you can find the current one on their website.
Of course, what really made the lunch cruise special were the views we were seeing as we ate our lunch. We enjoyed sights such as the Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris, Musee d’Orsay, Statue de la Liberte,, and of course the Eiffel Tower.
I would recommend choosing the Privilege or Premier Service as those tables have the best views on the boat. They are about £10 more but are worth it. Plus you get the cheese course included in this. The boat itself is lovely, with windows that reach from floor to ceiling.
There is something magical about cruising along the Seine, passing under bridges that are centuries old. The Bateux Parisiens River Cruise sets you up for a highly enjoyable afternoon in Paris- delicious French food and elegant surrounding. I really didn’t want it to end.
