Eating My Way Through London: Kalifornia Kitchen

Kalifornia Kitchen is a new (ish) plant-based restaurant in central London. The all-day cafe-cum- restaurant serves a menu of healthy dishes to be eaten in or taken out. It’s motto is “Healthy is sexy” and it is free from animal products and single use plastic.

Be warned if you visit Kalifornia Kitchen- everything is pink. Whether this is an attempt to make it more appealing to the Instagram crowd, or to get visitors dreaming of California, it gives the restaurant a fun vibe. Not basic in any way :P. After a recommendation from a colleague, I made a visit with my vegan friend Christina, as we were both keen to try out a new vegan eatery in London.

The whole menu was very tempting, however I finally chose the Klassic Kalifornia Burger- my love of veggie and vegan burgers is well- known. Christina went for the the Rainbow Bowl, which looks pretty in pictures. My burger was a delight and came smothered in vegan smoked gouda, crispy onions, lettuce, tomato and tasty sauce. Highly recommended. I think next time I’ll go for the Rainbow Bowl as it looked delicious.

Even if you are an avid meat eater, there’s sure to be something on the menu that catches your eye. Kalifornia Kitchen is a stylish joint to be sure, but the food is worth sticking around for.
