Amsterdam- A Love Match
If I were to come across Amsterdam on a certain dating app, I would definitely swipe right, as Amsterdam is my travel match. It has been saddled with the reputation of being a city you go to if you want to smoke a bit of the other stuff, but last year was voted as the culture capital of the world. Current Obsessions
Time for a current obsessions posts (really narcissistic I know). I have been into all sorts recently so here is the round-up: Film In January, I went to see the film The Greatest Showman at the recommendation of my friend. Loved it! It may not have been a critical success but I enjoyed the story and the music. I listen to the soundtrack pretty much every morning on the way to work and I think I might get it on DVD when it comes out. I think it should have won every Oscar going in my opinion :P. Book Review: Into the Water by Paula Hawkins
The Girl on the Train was a publishing phenomenon, a stunningly intriguing thriller which placed the reader in the perspective of three major characters in the novel. Her second book Into the Water is a similar type of read, more complex than its predecessor but still as dark. However, it stands as a thriller on its own. The plot surrounds Nel Abbot, who was found dead in the river, just a few short months after the death of her daughter’s best friend Katie in similar circumstances.
