Eating My Way Through London: Maltby Street Market
Maltby Street Market is a hidden gem, a quirky version of its neighbour Borough Market, although without the crowds and the tourists. It is bustling and vibrant, offering a selection of groceries, breads, meats and cheeses.\nHowever, it is also ideal for lunch and I defy anyone to walk down there and not feel their stomachs rumbling, no matter how recently they\’ve eaten.\nIt\’s a bit of a task to find (although not for us, as my friend lives around the corner from it), however once found, it\’s definitely worth a repeat visit. Nestled under a railway bridge, it is a crowded tunnel of aroma and colour, with a blend of cuisines…

Bristol: A City of Culinary Pleasures
Bristol is a foodie’s paradise. There’s such a vast selection of good places to eat throughout the city. I was lucky enough to be gifted the chance to go on a food tour when I visited my friend Anna there a few months ago. Also- our tour guide was vegan as was my friend, so a lot of the food we sampled was either vegan or had a vegan alternative. West Street Kitchen A good place to start the tour, we enjoyed coffee and these super- cute cakes. Glitch Glitch is a hairdresser’s, but in true hipster style, they offer a nice line in rustic pizza. I really couldn’t get…

Eating My Way Through London: Borough Market
I do love a food market. The most famous one in London is Borough Market in Southwark, which is open from Monday- Saturday. The market has stood on the site since the thirteenth century and is a big draw for tourists and Londoners alike. The market is a foodie paradise. One tip I would give is to visit on an empty stomach to fully enjoy all that is available. Borough Market offers a wide supply of delicacies and delights, including pastries, cheese (lots of cheese) and teas. And the fudge. Definitely try the various types of fudge that Whirld has to offer. It is amazing. Seriously. The market is super…

Ridgmont Station Tea Rooms
I really love visiting tea rooms. This one in Ridgmont, Bedfordshire, didn’t disappoint. The tea rooms are a converted station building and are beautifully set- out, cosy and quaint. The food isn’t half- bad either! A lovely Easter Saturday treat 🙂

Polish Waffles
Birmingham has more canals than Venice and the rather lovely The Karczma, a Polish restaurant with traditional decor which wouldn’t look out of place in Southern Poland. I had these waffles: They also served a gorgeous tea with honey that could be added. The waffles were good but the tea was better :p

Vanilla Cheesecake
A lovely morning in Cambridge talking about books at a literary festival, followed by tea and vanilla cheesecake with friends- sounds like a perfect way to spend a Saturday in my opinion. Harriet’s Cafe and Tearooms, Cambridge
