Stewarding for Oxfam
About a month ago, I did some festival stewarding for Oxfam, something I’ve been wanting to do for ages. Two friends and I went to Camp Bestival in Dorset. Camp Bestival is the baby brother of Isle of Wight festival, Bestival and was established by the same founder, Rob da Bank and is primarily aimed at families. We chose it as we hoped it would be more chilled out that other music festivals, plus the dates slotted in with our schedules. Oxjam stewarding consists of volunteering for three 8 hour shifts over the course of the festival. In exchange, the festival is free to volunteers. As well as this, Oxfam stewards…

Birthday Cheesecake
My birthday feels so long ago now. As part of my celebrations, I sampled some Chocolate Cheesecake with Raspberry Sorbet. I think raspberry and chocolate have to be one of my favourite food combos.

Cheesecake!
I’m sure Kat over at Mum for Fun wouldn’t mind me posting a picture of her slice of cheesecake on here: I was much more healthy with my choice but it wasn’t as fun 🙁

Lebanese Food
As part of my birthday celebrations, my boyfriend took me out last week for a Lebanese meal. Lebanese food is characterised by plenty of starch, wholefoods and vegetables. Red meat is not as used as widely as other types of meat, such as lamb. I haven’t eaten a lot of Lebanese food so was excited to try it. I was really glad we did as it was delicious. Here is a plate of Chicken Escalopes with olives and pickles on the side: Reem, Bedford

Tempura Prawns
A few weeks ago, I visited Hyper Japan, a festival of all things Japanese, taking place at the O2 arena, Greenwich. One of the great things to do there is experience Japanese cuisine, hence we sampled the above Tempura prawns and noodles.

Mini Adventures June and July part 2
Shuttleworth WW1 Airshow I had never been to an airshow before so being invited along to this one on the 5th July was an unexpected treat. I have to admit I came woefully unprepared, however I was impressed by how much there is to see and do there. One of the highlights was the Vulcan bomber making an appearance on its last tour. I did not expect the sheer exhilaration of seeing that kind of aircraft up close. It was fascinating. Katrina over at Mum for Fun has written a guide to airshows for women, that would be worth checking out if you were ever to go to one: http://www.mumforfun.com/duxford-airshow-review/…

Just a light bite
We managed to cheer up Monday by devouring this meat platter. Unfortunately, the wasps wanted it too but we managed to protect our goodies from them! The Bell, Westoning
