Easy Chicken Curry
I’m completely caffeinated on coffee as I write this. Knew having two cups wasn’t the best idea haha! The takeaways near me aren’t up to much, so I thought I’d try to create my own Indian feast at the weekends. This chicken curry is yummy and easy to make- a pretty good substitute for a takeaway I think. Ingredients Method Recipe courtesy of BBC Good Food

Sushi-making and Sake*
Happy October! The trees are changing colour and there’s a definite chill in the air. I love Autumn- it makes me want to stack up on carbs and chai. I’ve also been thinking back to a sushi-making class I went to in London this time last year. I’ve been a bit lax in adding this to the blog because of everything happening with the pandemic, but have finally got around to posting it. When my friend, Jo, asked me to accompany her on a sushi-making course, I readily accepted. The chance to learn a new skill, plus the opportunity for food totally sold this to me. Our teacher, Makiko Sano,…

Eating My Way Through London: Busaba, Stratford
We went to this place for a work lunch on my manager’s suggestion. I liked what I had, my manager didn’t. Make of that what you will! Personally I found the Pad Kwetio tasty but not very filling. I do have a big appetite though. My colleagues had a variety of dishes, all which looked pretty much the same size. Busaba, Stratford

Foodies do the West Coast of Canada
Autumn is my favourite time of the year. I’ve written countless blog posts about it and save my sweater collection all year round, ready for the Autumn months. This year, I started my Autumn off by spending it in the Canadian Rockies. I’ve really wanted to go there for sometime. After a nine hour flight, I arrived in Banff, to be greeted by crisp air and the sights of lush meadows and tall peaks. I’ve visited Canada before, back in 2012, and it is one of my favourite places. That time, I was lucky enough to visit the East Coast and posted a blog about my culinary experience here. An overarching…

Anyone for gyros? Eat like a Greek at Boxpark, Wembley
This gyros from The Athenian at Boxpark Wembley was amazing! Succulent, juicy and gorgeous. Also, today being Halloween gives me the opportunity for the perfect #TBT to a divine Halloween afternoon tea that I had a few years ago. Happy Halloween!

Eating My Way Through London: Casse- Croute
After my flirtations with Greece and Persia, it seems like I’m turning back to French cuisine. Visiting Casse- Croute makes you feel like you’re dining in a French village. It may not be the cheapest, but it’s not ridiculously overpriced either. Casse- Croute, simply put, is fab. Situated in the thriving area of Bermondsey, it is small, and authentic. The chalkboard menu (changed daily) only has nine things on it, everything is in French and it feels like you’re being invited into someone’s dining room. It was a hot summer’s night when we visited and the place was crowded, despite it being a Monday (it was also my 31st birthday).…

Taking Inspiration From Persia
Nestled in amongst the hipster pubs and fashionable restaurants in the trendy Northern Quarter of Manchester, The Patron is a lovely little bar serving cheap Middle- Eastern food. It was perfect for a light bite for lunch. This Kofta b’siniyah was really delicious- recommended especially if you’re looking for something different from the usual to eat.

Eat Like A Greek
Souvlaki is Greece’s favourite street food. A healthier alternative to fast food, it is sold everywhere in Greece but there are plenty of places to get it elsewhere, especially in London. Also, it is delicious. I headed down to the Great British Food Festival at Chiswick House a few weeks ago and sampled their gorgeous souvlaki. It was as good as I remembered from Greece. The Great British Food Festival is a fun day out, offering a selection of food. It is also based at beautiful locations, which makes it extra nice, I think. Chiswick House and Gardens was a gorgeous location and our entry fee meant we could take…

Maltese Platter
The super- hot weather has put me in a holiday mood and has led me to think back to my trip to Malta last year. Maltese cuisine is heavily influenced by Italy- wholesome and full of flavour. If you visit Malta, give their Maltese platter a try. It is a selection box of several Maltese delicacies, including breads, Maltese sausage and sundried tomato. The Maltese have got it right- why have one thing when you can have everything! This is one that we tried in St George’s Bay, however most restaurants should serve them.

Eating My Way Through London: Bellanger
Bellanger has the feel of a neighbourhood place, rather than a trendy London eaterie. That might be due to its location in the twinkly, cosy section of Upper Street in Islington. Apparently Bellanger is ‘inspired by the Alsatian brasseries of Paris’. If you’re not down with Alsatian dining, then expect to be a little more familiar by the end of your visit. During my visit with friends a few weeks ago (Bellanger is great for dinner with friends), I had the quiche to start. It was one of the most divine quiches I have tasted. Light and extremely fluffy, it tasted like (cliche alert) clouds in my mouth. This was…
