Market Halls: Eating my way through London
There are two things I’m into- food halls and really good burgers. I’m still waiting for a burger to beat my experience at Time Out Barcelona. I had such an amazing burger, it has lingered in my mind for the last year!
One of three food halls from the Market Halls team- alongside original site Market Halls Fulham and the massive Market Halls West End – Market Halls Victoria is everything you could want in a food hall. Housed in a lovely old building, it’s home to 11 kitchens and 3 bars. I was lucky enough to pay 3 visits over several weeks to Market Halls- twice to Market Halls Victoria and then a third time to Market Halls Paddington, the newest branch.
On my first visit, we went in the evening for dinner. I really liked Black Bear Burger’s simplicity- which was good as Market Halls was so busy, it was difficult to hear myself think. Therefore grabbing a burger here made life a lot simpler.

I also came in with work colleagues a few days later and tried CDMX Tacos and their fabulous lunch time tacos. The only downside is that annoyingly they had run out of vegetarian options, which wasn’t ideal at 12.30pm.

The one thing I would point out- Market Halls in the evening is busy. It would be best to book online beforehand or be prepared to spend some time looking for a table. In the daytime it is slightly quieter, but still gets filled up with the working crowd. Expect to queue.

What to eat
Black Bear Burger– The classic burger was everything I wanted in a burger- beef, cheese, burger sauce, house sauce and B&B pickles. It was nicely juicy and smoky, with a really tasty burger sauce. It tasted like the ingredients were high-quality. I also got myself a portion of ketchup on my side- I’d advise you to ask for this, as it wasn’t offered to me.
CDMX Tacos– come by at lunch and try their lunch deal- three tacos for £14.99. I had pork, chicken and lamb. They were delicious.
My third trip to Market Hall was to the branch in Paddington. This was perfect to escape the crowds after a long day spectating at the London Marathon. On this occasion I tried the chicken gyros tray at Souvlaki Eatery. I loved this because it was not too heavy, but was also tasty.

What to drink
Market Halls has a bar, so choose from their selection to wash the burger down with. I had a cider with my burger and my souvlaki.
CDMX Tacos included a Agua Fresca as part of their lunch deal.
Anything else?
Market Halls is perfect for an informal bite to grab with friends. I loved the vibe and the food- just be prepared to fight for a table if you visit at busy periods.
