Cyprus- Village salad
So recently I went to Cyprus. The Cypriots have their own variation of Greek salad- Village Salad. It is just as delicious as Greek salad though.

Canada!
I thought I’d share some photos of food I took on my trip to Canada last year. This is a maple syrup breakfast I had in Quebec. Everything was literally dripping in maple syrup! I had that breakfast after eating a three-course meal the night before. The main course was duck: Another delicacy I enjoyed during my Candian odyssey was a Maple Syrup pie. Those Candians really love their Maple Syrup!: And of course I made a trip to Tim Horton’s and tried their Timbits!

Battenberg Cake

Right lovely girls and boys, time for a writing update. Since the last time I have posted a blog, I have had this published: http://www.weekendnotes.com/the-shakespeare-pub-victoria. This is quite different to anything I have written before, as I pretty much laid into the entire place. Which is fair I feel, it deserved it. We also visited Toronto, Niagara Falls (my 2nd time!) and Ottawa. It was fabulous! Just in case you don’t believe me, here’s a photo of Ottawa: It’s so beautiful. Ottawa is such a hidden gem in Canada, it is the Capital, but no one ever talks about it. Quebec was also fabbo. I could return there tomorrow. It has a delightful European charm and felt like a fairy tale. Again, here are a few piccies: …

1 August 2012
Finally I got a chance to blog! I have been watching the Olympics over the last few days. It has been so enjoyable, watching all the different sports and seeing all the countries together. The swimming has been so good. And to top it off, it’s taking place in my closest city. It makes me giggle to see Horse Guard’s Parade turned into a venue for Beach Volleyball. Take some sand and voila… I also really enjoyed the Opening Ceremony on Friday night. I loved Beijing’s effort in 2008 but I thought this one was delightfully quirky and very spectacular. It made me so proud to be British. Anyway, I…
