    Mini Adventures June and July

It feels like I’ve been on a few little trips recently.  The great thing about this time of year is there are always things to do.  I’ve written a roundup of some of the places I’ve been to. Hyper Japan I’ve been to this Japanese festival before and really wanted to go again so finally managed to get there this year. There was quite a bit to see. I’ve always wanted someone to draw a manga version of me, so got myself rendered in chibi form.  We also really liked the candy stall selling Japanese sweets (green tea Kitkat anyone? ) I had to resist the impulse not to buy…

What To Take To A Festival

Friday marks the starts of Glastonbury 2015. I have already started seeing photos on Facebook and Instragram of people arriving at the festival. As someone who attended Glastonbury last year, I expected to feel envy that I’m not going to be there this year, but I’m actually quite relieved, as I get to sleep in a warm bed and drink tea! I’m also pleased not to be experiencing the long drop toilets (try using them in the dark) and trying to dodge hypothermia. Quorn in Pitta

Another luscious meal that was cooked for me by a friend.  I have never tried quorn before but my friend is vegetarian. I actually really liked it,  I don’t know whether I’d want it as a regular substitute for meat but I enjoyed it and would definitely eat it again.

    Afternoon Tea

I absolutely adore afternoon tea. As a tea drinker, I love the idea of eating cakes and sandwiches alongside my cuppa. Yesterday I had the pleasure of enjoying afternoon tea at the Woburn Hotel, alongside my Mum. It was her birthday 🙂 The Woburn Hotel, Woburn

    Birthday!

It is this blog’s second birthday today. I can’t quite believe where the time has gone.  What was initially a simple excuse for me to instagram pictures of my food has grown into a full scale blog.  Thank you to everyone who reads and follows my blog and likes my posts.  It makes me so happy to share my love of food with others. Here is a picture of my favourite dessert of recent months to celebrate,  a Shortbread Stack with Chantilly Cream and Strawberry Sauce:

    Falafel in Pitta

My friend cooked this for me, it was lovely. I’ve never had falafel before, so this was completely new to me, however I will definitely be eating it again. As you can see from the pictures below, the food was quite simply arranged and was great for sharing.

    Breaded Calamari

I really like calamari,  as you can probably tell.  This was taken at a Mexican restaurant and was really lovely,  so much so that it even converted my friend,  who doesn’t even like calamari. Baja,  Bedford
