Dutch food highlights: Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam
Welcome to the vibrant world of Dutch food and cuisine! Nestled in the heart of Europe, the Netherlands may not be the first country that comes to mind when thinking of gastronomic delights. However, this picturesque nation has much more to offer than just tulips and windmills. From indulging in hearty stroopwafels to devouring local delicacies like haring (herring) and bitterballen, the Netherlands has a rich culinary scene that is begging to be explored. I have written about the Netherlands before because I really loved the food. However, I think my recent visit to the Netherlands gives me ample opportunity to talk more about the culinary delights of the Netherlands.…

Where to eat in Prague (and Dresden)
Food in Prague is hearty. It is also filling and tasty. I was lucky enough to visit Prague recently for a birthday trip, so was keen to try as much of the local food as possible and discover where best to eat in Prague. The local beverage is Pilsner and it is ridiculously cheap (as is all the beer). My partner loves the stuff so it was his dream. I don’t like beer so I wasn’t so keen. However, there are plenty of other drinks to enjoy. Fancy a few ideas of where to eat in Prague? Here is a round-up of some of my favourite places I ate and…

Dining on the River Seine with Bateaux Parisiens
My trip to Paris was quite a long time ago, but I feel the quality of the food (and the whole experience) of my lunchtime river cruise warrants a place on this blog. I really wanted a special dining experience whilst visiting Paris and the Bateaux Parisiens Seine River Lunch Cruise was just the thing! Four courses, a glass of champagne, and plenty of wine (they really didn’t believe in moderation). Just to add that if you don’t drink alcohol, there are soft drinks and water alternatives. The starters were gorgeous: For the main course, I had the beef, whilst my boyfriend had the salmon: For dessert, we both had…

The Spy Glass Inn, Ventnor
I’m a sucker for a beautiful view, and the Spy Glass Inn in Ventnor, on the Isle of Wight, has that in spades. When you’re standing on Ventnor Cove with its sheer cliffs and turquoise waters, it’s hard not to feel like you’ve found your way into paradise. And that’s exactly what we felt when we visited the Spy Glass Inn, a local pub with great food and an amazing view of Ventnor Cove The portions are generous, and the food is tasty—we both have big appetites but struggled to finish our plates of calamari and chips. They served standard pub grub, but it was very filling and the seafood…

Sotto Sotto, Bath
Sotto Sotto is such a popular dinner spot in Bath, you need to be sure to get a reservation in plenty of time, or else risk not getting in at all. The reviews are so good that we were keen to try it whilst in Bath, especially as we were all fans of Italian food. Okay so it had a great vibe- bustling with people and lovely low romantic lighting. I felt like I was going somewhere really high-end upon entering. It’s deep within the vaults of North Parade, so feels very secret and hidden away. I’m obviously here to talk about the food right? Starter was calamari which is…
