Eating My Way Through London: Kalifornia Kitchen
Kalifornia Kitchen is a new (ish) plant-based restaurant in central London. The all-day cafe-cum- restaurant serves a menu of healthy dishes to be eaten in or taken out. It’s motto is “Healthy is sexy” and it is free from animal products and single use plastic. Be warned if you visit Kalifornia Kitchen- everything is pink. Whether this is an attempt to make it more appealing to the Instagram crowd, or to get visitors dreaming of California, it gives the restaurant a fun vibe. Not basic in any way :P. After a recommendation from a colleague, I made a visit with my vegan friend Christina, as we were both keen to…

Last Night A Vegan Saved My Life
It has been all about the vegan food for me recently. I’m an omnivore but have a soft spot for vegan food. For this reason I found myself drawn to vegan fare- I often say that I prefer vegan burgers to meat ones. I recently visited StrEATfeast at Alexander Palace, where there was a wide selection of foods to choose from. This was super gorgeous. I think Last Night A Vegan Saved My Life has got itself…

Vegan Junk Food
As some people may already know, one of my good friends, Anna, and her partner are vegan. Before meeting them, I didn’t know much about veganism. Since they came into my life in 2013, I have spent time with them, educating myself about the vegan lifestyle and what it entails, which has been somewhat of an adventure to me. I recently went up to visit Anna in Bristol, which involved a food tour (details of which will be in a forthcoming post!). She also took me to try dirty vegan food at Vx, a Bristol eaterie which specialises in vegan junk food. I tried the nachos, which proved to me…

Vantra Vitro
Vantra Vitro is a small restaurant nestled along Oxford Street in London, specialising in healthy food. Everything is vegan which is why a group of us ended up there for my vegan friend Anna’ s birthday last weekend. The restaurant doesn’t sell alcohol so I drank Elderflower water instead (somebody tried the Mangoade). The food was in a buffet style, so you help yourself and then the plate gets weighed. You pay for how much is on your plate. There was a choice ranging from Thai curry to steamed broccoli and strogonoff. I really enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend Vantro Vitro if you’d like to try something healthier. …

A Vegan Christmas Buffet
This was served at a party that took place in October. I have crazy friends. It also proves that it is possible to create a tasty Christmas feast that is completely vegan.
